Moroccan Oil Reviews

It’s not often that you come across a product that you want to shout about, one that actually delivers on its promise, yet when my hairdresser recommended Moroccan Oil Hair Treatment I have to admit that I was impressed. The results were dramatic and the health of my hair has improved greatly. It revives, hydrates and detangles all in one – what more could you ask?

Wanting to avoid being ripped off by the inflated prices in the hair salon many people ask me “Where I can buy Moroccan Oil”?

So What Is Morrocan Oil?

One of the main ingredients of the hair treatment is Argania Spinosa kernel oil. This is a natural oil taken from the nuts of the Argan Tree which is predominately found in Morocco, hence the name. This substance has long been used by the native woman of Morocco to not only treat their hair but also their skin. They even cook with it!

Moroccan Oil hair treatment is ultra-light and rather than sitting on the hair, it’s actually absorbed instantly into the hair shaft and as such does not leave the greasy residue that some oils and serums can do. I have really fine fly-away hair with lots of split ends, no doubt from over use of styling tools, and prior to using Moroccan Oil I found any hair treatments that I used did nothing but add weight and grease causing my hair to become even more lank and dull. How to use Morrocan oil for the best results?

Moroccan Oil hair products are really easy to use. The instructions on the box simply say to apply a small amount throughout damp or dry hair and style as usual. Using Moroccan oil can also cut down on the length of time it takes to dry your hair. It really is as simple as that but here are some extra tips:

  • For extra nourishment I sometimes apply the oil and then let it sit on my damp hair wrapped up in a towel for 5 to 10 minutes. I’m not sure that there is any science behind this but it seems to do the trick and my hair is silky soft after drying.
  • Use the oil sparingly. One 25ml bottle lasts me about 6 months.
  • Use a separate comb on wet hair oiled hair and then use a different comb/brush after the hair is dried. This just stops any oil left on the brush being transferred to my dry hair which can then make it look greasy as my hair is so fine.
  • Store the bottle upside down when there’s only a little left – the oil is pretty thick so it can take a while to come out.

My results

I started to use this oil in the summer and whilst on Holiday in Florida where my hair was under constant pressure from the heat, the wind and the pool. Usually that means my hair ends up looking frazzled and I go home crying out for a hair appointment before I want to see anyone! Not the case this time though, with my hair feeling in better condition on my return than it had before I went!

I have certainly noticed a reduction in the number of split ends I have, and believe me this used to be a real problem for my long coloured hair. I can now also go a day or 2 longer between washes. My hair is much more manageable and I have had comments from other people about how good it looks. Initially I used the hair treatment every day but now I only seem to need to use it just every 3rd or 4th wash. I think this is because my hair is better nourished.

  1. Though men aren’t supposed to dabble with stuff like this, this looks interesting, as living on the Canadian prairies, we have a brutally cold & dry winter, and it plays havoc with drying out my hair (what’s left!). I’ve never got around to buying moisturizers – that’s for the girls – but this one I could handle.

With what hair I left it should last me a while too my wife kindly observed – isn’t she a sweetheart?

    • Hi Bruce, you are right the cold and wind can really damage hair and Moroccan Oil can certainly come in handy when looking for a hair treatment to help with this. The great thing about the packaging is that it isn’t too girlie, so as you say, its great for the men too.
      Thanks for your comment.
